PROPERTY INSPECTION
Inspections of an existing water and/or sewage treatment system are available upon request. Please complete a property inspection request form and contact a sanitarian to schedule an appointment.
The water system will be evaluated and a water sample will be collected and analyzed at a state certified lab for bacteriological and nitrate contamination. Other water tests may be requested such as lead and arsenic for an additional fee. Existing sewage treatment systems do not need to comply with current regulations but must have at least one riser to grade for the septic tank or aeration unit and be in good working order with no sign of failure. The Hocking County Health Department does not require the septic system to be pumped prior to inspection.
