School Immunizations PDF Print E-mail

Before your child enters school this fall, their immunizations may need updated.  The Ohio Department of Health revised the school immunization requirements to more closely reflect the most recent recommendations of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.  Immunizations may be done either through your physician or the local health department clinic. New Immunization requirements for the 2010-2011 school-year are:
  • Children entering the 7th grade will need either a Tdap or Td booster
  • Children entering Kindergarten will need a 2nd dose of varicella (Chickenpox) vaccine
  • Children entering Kindergarten must have received their 4th dose of polio after their 4th birthday or an additional dose will be needed.

If you choose to come to the health department, clinics are as follows:

Every Monday                                                8 A.M. – 10 A.M.

Every Friday                                       1 P.M. – 3:30 P.M.

Second Tuesday of each month          4 P.M. – 7 P.M.
